This Day in Giants History: December 5, 1969

Giants vice president and general manager Charles “Chub” Feeney will succeed Warren Giles as president of the National League. He is elected for a four-year term‚ beginning January 1‚ 1970. Giants owner Horace Stoneham, Feeney’s uncle, will again serve as the team’s general manager, the post Feeney had held since 1950.
