Did anyone notice this past season that the Giants gave up a lot of home runs to pitchers?
There are some seasons in which the Giants don’t allow a home run to a pitcher at all. From 2008 to 2011, the Giants allowed just a single such home run, to Yovani Gallardo. In 2012, the Giants gave up three home runs to pitchers. In the first three weeks of the 2013 season, the Giants allowed three home runs to opponents’ starting pitchers, including one to — that’s right — Yovani Gallardo. Then, later in the season, they allowed one more. Is that some sort of record?
